Key Responsibilities:
Metal Finishing Operations
- Support Lean 5s initiatives to achieve a workplace that is clean, uncluttered, safe, and well organized to help reduce waste and optimize productivity
- Demonstrate time management skills while multitasking
- Follow documented and verbal directions including on-the-job training, written job instructions, and standard operating procedures
- Safely meet established labor efficiency and production goals such as throughput and quality of work
- Accurately complete forms and documentation such as production travelers (MOT’s) and process logs
- Operation of manual and automated media blast cabinets
- Operation of various chemical and metal finishing processes
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment
- Clearly communicate needs (materials, equipment, training) to supervisor or lead
- Work independently and or in a team environment
- Must Maintain 97% of expected throughput
In-process Quality Inspection
- Perform inspections using applicable tools and equipment
- Identify and physically quarantine non-conforming material and product
- Maintain cleanliness, verify calibration, and identify wear of inspection gaging and equipment
- Maintain traceability of work product
Quality of work
- Maintain less than 2% individual non-conforming parts/scrap rate
- Ensure that all products meet quality standards and report potential non-conformances or safety issues
- Communicate any production issues through chain of command as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and quality
- All other duties as assigned

This position requires use of information and data which is subject to US Export Regulations, including but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 22 C.F.R. 120 et seq., and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), 15 C.F.R. 730 et seq. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S Government.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder
- Must pass initial and subsequent background checks
- Must pass preemployment and subsequent drug and alcohol screenings
- Must comply with internal non-disclosure agreement requirements
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, and decimals)
- Proficiency in using Windows operating systems, navigating Microsoft SharePoint, and using quality management software, including data entry
- Maintain Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives “Employee Possessor” eligibility
- Must be able to work in an environment containing devices that may interfere with the operation of a pacemaker (BSU 33/Building 3)
- 1 year experience in metal finishing
Physical Requirements

- FREQUENT (up to 66%): walking, sitting, climbing on/off truck, reading, lifting up to 10 lbs, gripping.
- CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, hearing-speech-range, depth-perception, color vision.
- VISION: Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Near vision includes clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less to work with small objects or read small/fine print, including use of computers.
