Progress Drilling USA (PDUSA)is a geotechnical and geo-environmental drilling service provider. PDUSA personnel and equipment and are capable of soil and bedrock sampling to depths in excess of 250 feet using solid or hollow stem auger, casing advance, wet rotary, or rock coring. The track mounted drilling equipment can access project sites that may have challenging terrain or wet conditions otherwise inaccessible by more traditional types of equipment.

The Drilling Manager will be responsible to manage the crews, schedule work, and ensure process, procedure, safety are followed while maintaining production. The position will also be responsible for keeping track of inventory, tooling and managing operating costs in accordance with internal budgets. This position is responsible for managing project teams to successful completion of all project deliverables, related documents and coordination of project requirements and provide further support for business development.

This position is responsible for managing project teams to successful completion of all project deliverables, related documents and coordination of project requirements and provide further support for business development.
Accountabilities:
- Management of crews and maintain good working relationships with drilling crew members.
- Work with PDUSA Operations Manager on project budgeting and field requirements.
- Work with PDUSA Operations Manager to establish equipment and crew requirements/scheduling.
- Support in business development through maintaining client relationships and promoting PDUSA to potential clients.
- Work with Drilling Superintendent to ensure training competency of PDUSA geotechnical drill crew members.
- Ensure project requirements are understood and communicated to drill crew members prior to starting work.
- Assist in hiring and ensure proper training of PDUSA drill crew members.
- Keeps records of drilling footage, simplified soil records, tooling usage, consumables, and other items about drilling operations.
- Working knowledge of all PDUSA drilling equipment and inventory.
- Monitor crews and responsible for scheduled maintenance and repair needs for all equipment.
- Maintain State and Federal DOT records for drill rigs, support vehicles and personnel Attend all safety meetings and comply with both company and client safety standards and programs.
- Perform site visits for accessibility evaluation, borehole locating, and documenting existing site conditions.
- Assist with billing and tracking of crew timesheets.
- Perform equipment inspections, site audits and safety inspections/audits periodically.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities by Company safety rules and procedures.
- Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
- 5 years experience working around drilling and heavy equipment.
- 2 years experience in leadership roles supervising others.
- Sufficient knowledge of geotechnical drilling techniques to be responsible for an entire project.
- Be available for drilling projects that require both in-state and out-of-state travel and overnight visits, as required.
- CDL A License (an asset).
- Previous experience managing people and leadership skills is required.
- Familiar with various types of Geotechnical Drilling scopes.
- Familiar with and following and tracking DOT and IFTA regulations.
- Must have current driver's license with record in accordance with Company and DOT policies, class A license is highly preferred but not required.
- TWIC card considered an asset but not required.
- ISTC Basic Plus considered an asset but not required.
- HAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification considered an asset but not required.
- Previous geotechnical drilling experience considered a major asset.
- Subsistence provided for out of town work.
- Use of the Company Trucks for all travel and per-diem paid for all out of town work, while away from home.
- The Company will provide basic PPE items such as safety goggles, gloves and other items that may be specific to the job site. The employee will be responsible for all other PPE requirements for the job.
