PURPOSEThe Warehouse Associate position receives, stores and distributes materials, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Read customer orders, work orders, prepare parcels for mailing, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program and mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
Verify for correctness of item as well as quantity and pack all orders processed through the packing station.
Assist shipping and receiving with unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
Responsible for answering shortage/overage/incorrect item customer reports in a timely manner.
May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed including sweeping, dusting, and mopping. Maintaining organization of warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
Assist all Warehouse Pullers with locating materials.
Assist in updating dimensions and weights for all materials in the database.
Always follow all safety rules and regulations by being able to carefully and safely drive the order picker and other warehouse equipment.
Forklift (stand-up) experience preferred.
Any other tasks or projects that may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information
Ability to work in a fast paced environment where working in a team or working independently is needed
Ability to learn through both written word and online training
Strong ability to use technology and software including, but not limited to, Epicor P-21, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite to improve efficiency
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sight, hearing, speech. Ability to squat, sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, or reach. Frequent lateral mobility; frequent entry and exit from vehicles; use of both hands and arms; occasionally lift weights over 75 pounds; mentally able to plan and analyze verbal input; solve problems; make decisions and take appropriate action under moderate stress.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., however hours may vary by location. There may be times where there is an expectation to work extended hours as dictated by business needs.
