POSITION: Sterile Processing Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Surgery
HOURS: Full-time/Non-Exempt
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sterile Processing Coordinator will fully own the oversight of all sterilization processes, policies, and procedures for the hospital, clinics, and satellite clinics. They will ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including those from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert (SME) in sterile processing, guiding best practices for sterilization and decontamination across departments.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High school diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited surgical technician program or nursing license preferred. CRCST Certification preferred or required to obtain within first year of employment. Current BLS Certification.

- Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive data at all times
- Comprehensive knowledge of sterilization techniques, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in managing and improving sterilization practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide guidance and training to staff across various departments.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in surgery, sterile processing, or central sterile supply within a healthcare setting required.
