GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Unit Secretary is responsible for scheduling patients in three separate departments by working through referrals, calling patients to schedule, and perform all clerical duties under the general supervision of the Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapist and the Director of Specialty Therapy. Position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, families, and health team members. In this role, you will be trained to assist with rooming patients by weighing and taking vitals using an automatic blood pressure machine. Assisting patients with meal trays, escorting patients per wheelchair, and assisting with daily unit activities and order will be required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of recognized Nursing Assistant course is preferred but not required
SKILL(S):

- Computer skills/experience required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations and hospital procedures
- Skill in using scale, blood pressure machine for vitals, and ECG machine
- Ability to think independently and demonstrate good problem-solving skills
- Legible printing and/or handwriting.
- Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate with a variety of individuals in a positive manner
- Ability to communicate and work harmoniously with patients, families, and health team members
- Maintains confidentiality and always protects sensitive data
- Ability to manage time effectively
EXPERIENCE:

Receptionist and CNA experience is preferred but not required

Salary : $19 - $28
