POSITION: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
DEPARTMENT: Emergency Medical Services
HOURS: .6 FTE (48 hours per pay period) rotating days/nights including weekends and holidays
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The fundamental responsibility of the EMT-B is to conserve life, to alleviate suffering, to promote health, to do no harm and to encourage the quality and equal availability of emergency medical care. The EMT-B is qualified in pre-hospital emergency care and services by a competency-based education program. The standard of practice of the EMT-B shall be in accordance with the utmost current edition "Emergency Medical Technician: National Standard Curriculum."
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some advanced education preferred.
- Possess a valid State Driver's License
- Current state or National Registry EMT-B Certification
- Driving record in compliance with AMR policy regarding insurability.
SKILL(S):
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- Some past work experience, preferably in healthcare desired.
