POSITION: Surgery Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Surgery
HOURS: 48 - 64 hours per pay period / Non-Exempt
WAGE RANGE: $22.95 - 29.51
General Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Surgery Manager, the Surgery Coordinator performs delegated and independent functions to ensure and support the appropriate patient scheduling requirements. The position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. Assists in the administration of a variety of operating room policies, procedures, chart organizing, and data tracking for quality improvement. Performs administrative tasks as assigned.

Education/Training/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years clinical experience preferred. Must have experience with staffing and scheduling and able to perform secretarial and clerical duties.
- Excel and Microsoft work experience preferred.
- Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Friendly and courteous personality.
- Able to prioritize jobs and manage interruptions.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good communication skills, telephone, verbal and written.
- Basic understanding of insurance regulations and CMS guidelines.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and the public.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Take accurate minutes at meetings, maintain records of attendance.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Flexibility to take on new assignments as requested.
- Utilizes AIDET when communicating with others (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You.)
