As a Nurse Case Manager, you’ll oversee comprehensive case management for assigned workers' compensation cases, ensuring claimants receive the best possible care while managing costs and driving positive outcomes.
- Medical Case Management: Develop individualized treatment plans to facilitate optimal recovery and return-to-work outcomes.
- Claims Support: Act as a resource for claimants, adjusters, physicians, employers, and attorneys, fostering non-adversarial relationships.
- Medical Oversight: Review all medical records to assess treatment necessity, appropriateness, and effectiveness.
- Field Work & Travel: Conduct on-site visits to claimants, physician offices, and district clinics, providing hands-on support.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain case files per CCMSI guidelines, documenting all care, treatment plans, and cost-saving measures.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Participate in team roundtables, medical reviews, and strategic discussions to enhance claim resolution.
What You Bring to the Table:
Must-Have Skills
- Current Michigan RN License
- Prior Nurse Case Management experience in workers' compensation, trauma, rehabilitation therapy, or occupational medicine
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal)
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Outlook
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and organizational skills
- Familiarity with workers’ compensation regulations in Michigan
- Experience coordinating independent medical evaluations and treatment referrals
- Claimant & Client Satisfaction: Deliver high-quality case management that meets client and claimant expectations.
- Team Collaboration: Effectively participate in medical reviews, physician visits, district clinic engagements, and case discussions.
- Efficiency & Productivity: Ensure timely and effective claim resolution with appropriate medical interventions.
- Cost Management: Identify and document cost savings through proactive medical oversight and intervention.
