Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role in Geneva, NY for a CCN Programmer. The ideal candidate is an experienced programmer and has exposure to woodworking. Must work well will others and be ready to learn!
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to create 3D models and generate accurate CNC machining paths.
- Write CNC code using the appropriate programming language (G-code, M-code) to define cutting tool movements, speeds, feeds, and other machining parameters.
- Modify CNC Code as necessary to accommodate changes in design or production requirements.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machinery to ensure machines are properly calibrated and functioning in adherence to quality standards.
- Operate CNC machinery as needed.
- Develop training materials for programming and operating, and train new CNC operators.
- Establish a machine maintenance checklist and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for CNC machinery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of CNC programs, machine settings, and adjustments made during production and/or calibration testing, allowing for easy reference and troubleshooting if issues arise during future runs.
- Work with a focus on minimizing waste and optimizing material usage by improving the nesting process and utilizing CNC capabilities to maximize material yield.
- Assist in estimating production costs by considering material, labor, and machine time required for each CNC programming job.
- Collaborate with design engineers and production teams to ensure precision, efficiency, and quality in production; Facilitate communication between the engineering team and the shop floor.
- Work closely with the production manager to schedule machine time, ensuring that deadlines are met without sacrificing product quality.
- Collaborate with the design and engineering team to establish standardized tooling and design processes with a focus on manufacturability (DFM).
