Overview
Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is a global leader in providing advanced refrigeration solutions for commercial and industrial applications. We are looking for a Product and Technical Service Technician for Refrigeration is responsible for providing expert technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. This role involves both remote and on-site interaction with customers to ensure optimal performance of refrigeration equipment, diagnosing technical issues, and offering solutions for installation, operation, and repair. The technician will also collaborate with internal teams on product improvement, quality control, and new product development.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote and on-site technical support for customers and partners on refrigeration systems and components
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex refrigeration system issues, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and control systems
- Guide customers through the installation, configuration, and operation of refrigeration systems and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Log and report issues to the engineering and technical teams for analysis and resolution
- Address customer inquiries promptly and provide expert advice on refrigeration system performance and maintenance
- Educate customers on best practices for operating and maintaining their refrigeration systems
- Build strong relationships with customers to foster long-term satisfaction and support business growth
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, and product development teams to relay customer feedback, product issues, and suggestions for improvement.
- Work with cross-functional teams to update and improve technical documentation, user guides, and manuals.
- Keep up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in refrigeration.
- Develop and update training materials and technical guides specific to refrigeration systems
- Conduct training sessions for customers, distributors, and internal teams on proper use, troubleshooting, and maintenance of refrigeration products
- Work with customers and external vendors to assist them in performing regular maintenance, repairs, and replacements of refrigeration system components
- Assist customers in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend system life
- Ensure all refrigeration units are functioning within manufacturer and industry standards for efficiency and safety
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree or technical certification in refrigeration technology, HVAC, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in refrigeration or HVAC service, technical support, or product support roles.
- Hands-on experience with refrigeration system installation, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs.
- Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, refrigerants, and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues related to refrigeration systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with CRM or ticketing systems for managing customer cases.
