Job Summary
Overview:
We are seeking experienced and qualified individuals for the Class III Maintenance Technician – Advanced Level position. This role requires advanced-level skills and the ability to supervise five (5) inmates as part of maintenance operations. Successful candidates must meet the outlined training, certification, and licensing requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct the work of up to five (5) inmates during maintenance tasks.
- Perform advanced-level maintenance duties in accordance with Department standards and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper use of tools and equipment.
- Operate commercial vehicles, as necessary, for maintenance-related tasks.
- Maintain regular communication with the Department and promptly report updates or issues.
- Wear a designated uniform identifying supervisory status and carry a cell phone while on duty..
Experience
- Correctional Experience: At least 3 years as a certified correction officer, with experience supervising inmates.
- Driving Experience: At least 1 year of driving commercial vehicles with a Class B driver’s license and air brake endorsement.
- Maintenance Expertise: Hands-on experience in advanced maintenance tasks, such as repairs, equipment handling, and construction.
- Traffic Operations: Knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) procedures with an Advanced Level certification.
- Leadership: Proven ability to supervise teams and manage projects effectively while ensuring safety and compliance.
