FUNCTION: Orbit Farm Technologies
SUB FUNCTION: Service Delivery
REPORT TO: General Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Cedar Rapids, IA - this will be a field based role, dispatched within a 3 hour radius of Cedar Rapids
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred
EXPERIENCE: 1 - 3 years telecommunications field services experience preferred

What You Will Accomplish And Experience
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot technology systems, including computers, printers, IoT devices, camera systems, sensors, and other additional hardware onsite.
- Perform routine maintenance on hardware and software to ensure optimal system performance in field environments.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues in outdoor and rural settings.
- Set up and maintain IT hardware, including laptops, tablets, servers, routers, and wireless access points for field operations.
- Ability to connect with vendors to resolve client issues.
- Train end-users on technology usage and best practices to ensure seamless integration into daily operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues, delivering prompt and professional client support both on-site and remotely.
- Collaborate with teams to test and deploy new technology solutions in real-world settings.
- Assist in integrating IT systems with farm equipment on-site.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and updates.
- Provide feedback on system performance and suggest improvements to enhance product reliability and usability.
- Proven experience as an IT Field Technician.
- Strong knowledge of networking and systems technologies, including wireless communication, LAN/WAN, and cellular connectivity.
- Familiarity with IoT devices, cameras, and sensors.
- Proficiency in diagnosing hardware and software issues in diverse environments.
- Experience with cloud-based systems, data analytics platforms, and agricultural software tools is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively to rural and agricultural locations.
