Compensation includes a base salary of $108,800.00 - $181,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Tax Manager will oversee the tax needs for Investment Planning, Federal Controversy and Federal Policy for Cox Enterprises and its affiliates
Responsibilities:
Federal Planning
Evaluate and develop tax-efficient structures for investments, including partnerships, joint ventures, and other vehicles.
Support due diligence activities for investments.
Coordinate integration activities for investments.
Act as primary technical lead on investment funding and partnership allocations
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Cox’s Corporate Development teams
Federal Controversy
Manage all aspects of Federal Compliance Assurance Process (CAP) tax audit with the IRS.
Collaborate with external advisors, legal counsel, and internal teams to prepare quarterly summary of company transactions as well as transaction presentations for the IRS
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with IRS team
Federal Policy
Monitor and evaluate changes in Federal tax legislation and regulatory developments that impact the company.
Develop and help advocate for the company’s positions on key Federal tax policy matters.
Liaise with government officials, industry groups, and external advisors to influence Federal tax policy in the company’s favor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years’ experience in a related field

Strong analytical, technical, written and oral communications skills
Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to lead, manage and prioritize multiple assignments and projects; resolve complex tax issues, and consistently deliver a thorough and accurate work product with great attention to detail
Demonstrated performance as a team player, highly motivated and a self-starter
