Job Description:
As part of an integrated project team, the Cloud Systems Administrator will provide enterprise system and mobile application cloud support. This role includes managing Cloud infrastructure services, maintaining a multiuser computing environment, and designing cost-effective solutions to meet technical requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Implementing and verifying cloud architecture and administration processes compliant with client policies.
- Enhancing methodologies for reliable performance.
- Developing innovative solutions to complex problems and automating routine tasks.
- Timely implementation of security configurations, patching, and updates.
- Integrating and documenting approved new technologies.
- Providing occasional on-call support (after-hours, holidays, weekends).
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum Required:
- 5 years of recent experience configuring and administering cloud environments and tools.
Must Have Skills:
- Defining secure cloud architecture adhering to development, engineering, and cloud standards.
- Providing guidance to engineering teams on administrative processes.
- Administering AWS environments.
- Supporting enterprise tools and applications in a cloud environment.
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks, troubleshooting, and change/problem management using tools like Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Crowd.
- Developing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environments using AWS kubectl and HashiCorp Terraform.
- Working within multiple cloud service providers (e.g., AWS GovCloud, AWS Commercial, Azure).
- Supporting cybersecurity teams with security analysis, generating reports, and providing recommendations.
- Designing solutions to enhance administrative security levels and performance.
- Identifying, tracking, remediating, and documenting vulnerabilities in collaboration with engineering, development, and cybersecurity teams.
Professional Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication, ensuring clarity and avoiding miscommunications.
Desired Skills (Not Mandatory):
- Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and other Windows-based technologies.
- Configuring VMs, containers, and web applications.
- Administering Linux, Windows Server, Kubernetes, Elastic Search, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Kiali, HashiCorp Consul, and HashiCorp Vault.
- Programming experience with Python, Bash, Shell, Java, Go, and PowerShell.
- Azure administration experience.
Education and Certifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- OR
- A total of 13 years’ relevant professional experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Certifications:
- Relevant industry certifications are desirable but not required.
