Experience Requirements
- 7 years' experience in data engineering and analytics, computer science, information technology, or related fields.
- A minimum bachelor's degree in data sciences is desirable, and a Master's Degree in a Data Science field is preferred.
- Combinations of experience and education will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- 5 years of experience building Snowflake data warehouse solutions incorporating multiple source system data.
- 5 years integrating reporting solutions, specifically ThoughtSpot, Power BI, and/or Tableau. Other BI solutions experience will be considered.
- 5 years of Data Modeling experience.
- Significant experience producing deliverables on a regular cadence, as well as reporting on status to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences with varying levels of technical understanding.
Primary Duties or Responsibilities related to the ECIDS project:
- Manage data collection, management, and storage for the project.
- Enhance and maximize the quality, integrity, reliability, and access to data assets.
- Build data pipelines to bring together information from different source systems and create the infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and data loading from multiple sources.
- Where applicable, enable data sharing and interoperable data exchange for the Division, the Department, other state agencies, and external partners/providers.
- Oversee all stages of data onboarding, transformation, and enablement.
- Assemble complex data sets that meet non-functional and functional business requirements.
- Collaborate with associated programs to collect, prepare, organize, and secure the department's data assets.
- Implement and enforce data privacy policies to comply with regulations.
- Provide data models and engage in data modeling efforts as needed.
- Deliver high-quality, uniform data to support analytics.
- Improve and streamline access to data to drive innovation and outcomes.
- Prepare data for analytical and operational uses by integrating, consolidating, cleansing, and structuring it for analytics applications.
- Enhance and maximize the quality, integrity, and reliability of data assets.
- Expand the effective utilization of data through improved usability and accessibility of IT systems.
- Enable data sharing and access across the department.
- Seek opportunities to eliminate data redundancies, improve data quality, and provide exceptional data services to the department.
- Train Data Management Office staff on management of the ECIDS solution.
- Train Division Staff on access and use of the system.
