Responsibilities:
- Lead reliability engineering initiatives to enhance product lifecycle and reduce system failures, working closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Employ the GEIA-STD-009A Reliability Program Standard for Systems Design, Development, and Manufacturing.
- Perform Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA). Conduct Reliability analyses, trend analysis, root cause analysis, and determine associated metrics while developing and maintaining associated databases. Lead the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Engineering Process.
- Develop a Basis of Estimate for a Proposal or Independent Research and Design (IRAD).
- Analyze reliability data and trends to identify areas of improvement, reduce risk, and improve system performance.
- Create Fault Tree Analyses (FTAs).
- Responsible for leading a group of engineers on a technical activity and ensuring completion on time and within budget.
- May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable.
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.
- Participate in preparation of proposals.
- Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
- Lead and direct the work of others as assigned.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings, including government program reviews and audits.
- Lead less-experienced engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of Reliability experience.
- Fluency in technologies and application domain.
- Ability to lead a technical group independently.
- U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
