With our continual growth, we are in search of a full time Audio Visual Design Engineer to join our team of professionals at our Mid-Atlantic location in Columbia, MD.
This position requires a dynamic, dedicated, self-motivated, customer focused, organized, ethical and skilled professional with a solid grasp of integrated AV systems.
Job Summary:
The Audio-Visual Design Engineer works with our Sales and Integration teams to design systems based on customer requirements and functionality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Translate customer requirements into functional system designs
· Review pre-construction designs, bids and documentation
· Identify all cabling and miscellaneous materials needed along with wall plates, overlays etc.
· Support Account Manager with labor and material estimates for projects
· Attend site surveys with Sales team as needed
· Create system line flow drawings, elevation drawings, and room layout drawings using Microsoft Visio or CAD software
· Provide ongoing engineering support and assist with project sign off
· Must have ability to communicate with customers, employees, vendors and subcontractors in a professional and timely manner
· Participate in customer meetings where appropriate
· Develop Change Orders when needed
· Ensure As-Built documentation and change orders are complete and accurate
· Research new products that can improve offerings to our clients
· Provide remote technical support for staff as needed
· Maintain knowledge of current technologies
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills to create statements of work and explain technical information to customers in clear terms.
- Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems with malfunctioning equipment.
- Time-management skills to ensure assignments are completed in a timely manner.
- Advanced Computer skills as required for design, configuration and operation of AV equipment
- Understanding of AV Equipment and interconnections
- Ability to work independently
Education/Experience/Certification:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- At least 7 -years (plus) experience of AV Experience preferred .
- CTS-D or CTS-I preferred
- Ability to read & understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams & line diagrams.
- Strong knowledge/experience of signal flow, audio visual signal types, connector types & terminations.
- Strong knowledge/experience with control/automation system: Crestron, AMX, and Extron.
- Strong knowledge/experience with audio DSP's: QSC, Biamp, Clearone
