COMPENSATION: 20.60/hr - 22.06/hr

ABOUT THE POSITION: CCSI is contracted by Monroe County Department of Social Services to provide program management services, including specialized staffing. The credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), is assigned to work on behalf of CCSI’s customer and will be responsible for conducting substance use disorder and employability assessments for applicants and recipients of public assistance to determine whether substance use is a barrier to employment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Completes substance use disorder assessments for applicants or recipients referred from DSS Examiners.
Completes employability assessments for applicants or recipients referred from DSS Examiners.
Completes brief mental health assessments as requested
Identifies the most appropriate substance use disorder provider for referral of applicant or recipient for a substance use disorder evaluation.
Reviews and resolves cases when there is a difference of opinion concerning the appropriate level of care for applicant / recipient.
Reviews needs of applicant /recipient to assess whether case management would be appropriate
Enters data concerning assessments into RAS
Reviews any requests for level of care changes and either approves or resolves differences with treatment provider.
Reviews requests for out of county services and either approves or resolves with substance use disorder provider making the request.
Reviews appropriateness of congregate level of care services for RAS clients and follows up as necessary.
Is available to provide additional information as requested at Fair Hearings.
Participates in the training of DSS staff as requested by supervisor
Reviews materials provided by supervisor concerning services and programs provided from the various Monroe County substance use disorder providers and uses them in making referral decisions
Meets weekly with supervisor
Reports out on work being done as requested.
Completes all OASAS, other certified trainings to maintain CASAC credential
Other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
Knowledge of the substance use disorder provider system in Monroe County
Knowledge of the mental health provider system in Monroe County preferred.
Ability and willingness to learn how to use the Monroe County Recovery Attendance System (RAS)

Staff working directly with protected health information /electronically stored protected health information, personally identifiable information, and other patient/consumer/customer data, will abide by the specific procedures and policies outlined by CCSI’s Code of Conduct and CCSI’s Privacy and Security Policies, New York State regulations and Federal regulations.
Staff working directly with Medicaid data will abide by the specific procedures and policies outlined by both New York State and Federal regulations.
