Under the guidance of Monroe County Department of Human Services, Monroe County Office of Mental Health, and Monroe County Office of Probation, theJuvenile JusticeMental Health Coordinatorswould be providing identification, assessment, consultation, and education of individuals who may benefit from community services. TheJuvenile JusticeMental Health Coordinatorsare promoters of cross-system collaboration ensuring that the department of probation and the Juvenile Justice / Family Courts have all relevant behavioral health and documented developmental issues when determining the case outcome. TheJuvenile JusticeMental Health Coordinatoris an employee of Coordinated Care Services Inc (CCSI) and is contracted to work with the Family Services Division of the Monroe County Office of Probation-Community Corrections and Family Court.CCSI is partnering withMonroe County Department of Human Servicesto hireaJuvenile JusticeMental Health Coordinator.This position is employed by CCSI and working on behalf ofMonroe County.In this role, you will Assist staff in identifying youth who may require / benefit from mental health consultation and / or assessment / evaluation Assist staff in defining and articulating requests for information Help to distinguish level of assistance / intervention based on identified needs Gather and review relevant records and information to help inform decision-making and make recommendations Ensure that Probation and Family Court receive useful, relevant, timely, accurate and culturally sensitive clinical information Provide review of previously / currently accessed services to assist in identifying unmet service needs and make recommendations for future intervention Provide mental health assessment services for youth where appropriate Provide written reports to both Probation and to Family Court where appropriate Coordinate referral process to contracted mental health consultants and the Socio-Legal Center, ensuring a timely, useful and quality product Facilitate linkage and referral to appropriate services / supports that can address identified needs in a timely manner Assist Family Court Judges and Probation officers in understanding and interpreting mental health reports Attend court hearings as appropriate Foster and support trauma-informed practices in the Juvenile Justice system Provide education, training, consultation and technical assistance on clinical and behavioral health related issues to Office of Probation-Community Corrections staff and Family Court Provide information and education for community mental health providers on Juvenile Justice processes that affect their clients Collaborate with Children’s SPOA to ensure timely access to appropriate SPOA services Connect with the Children’s Detention Center to support effective linkages and supports for detained youth Assist with the implementation of the CAPS specialized caseload Provide needed support with administration of MAYSI behavioral health screening tool to youth connected with probation Enter data and maintains database of all youth referred for consultation and other services Identify needs, gaps and service delivery issues in the behavioral health system and reports such to MCOMH Serve as liaison between MC Office of Mental Health, public mental health system, Office of Probation-Community Corrections and Family Court; builds effective linkages and relationships among and between those entities, promoting cross system collaboration Other duties as assigned.Requirements Masters in Social Worker (MSW) or Masters in Mental Health Counseling required Licensed or licensed eligible preferred- LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or other licensed mental health professional Two years clinical experience in children’s mental health or equivalent education and work experience (see CCSI's equivalency chart (https : / / www.ccsi.org / CCSI / media / pdfs / Equivalency-chart.pdf) ).Additional Requirements Satisfactory completion of all required background screenings.
