What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Mill Operator position at CCT Enterprises?
OVERVIEW:
Tends CNC equipment to maintain production and ensure quality requirements of the company and of the customer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reads and follows work instructions as provided through the quality management system and required through ISO and TS certifications to ensure stable processes are performed and quality product is output from the process.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Commitment to ISO TS16949 and CCT Enterprises philosophies.
- Reviews the job instruction manual (JIM book) with the assigned programmer, lead man, and or manufacturing engineer.
- Reviews the operator checklist with the assigned programmer, lead man, and or manufacturing engineer.
- Accurately identifies, segregates, and tags scrap or suspect product or material.
- Accurately maintains all JobBOSS data and production paperwork.
- Must be able to use and read calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers.
- Reviews the job traveler rate and notifies the programmer, lead man, and or manufacturing engineer of any variation from rate and of any issues limiting production.
- Consistently meets or exceeds rate.
- Operates two machines for the purpose of covering breaks for other operators.
- Works overtime as needed to support production goals and customer requirements.
- Works accurately and precisely on repetitive jobs to output quality products.
- Accurately performs tool changes and touch offs.
- Performs safe validation of process after tool change.
- Has a basic understanding of machine components and axes.
- Actively participates in all required training assigned by the company.
- Actively pursues a greater job knowledge and skill utilizing all available resources including: Level 2 operators, programmer, lead man, manufacturing engineer, machine manuals, schooling, etc…
- Maintains safe work habits and understands the dangers associated with machining processes.
- Understands the proper procedure for stopping the machining cycle in an emergency such as a tool breakage event.
- Maintains a clean work area and strives to leave it better than it is found.
- Immediately reports all injuries or illnesses to supervisor.
- Immediately reports unsafe practices or conditions to supervisor.
- Supports continuous improvement projects as requested.
- Cooperates and participates in all required ISO TS16949 functions including internal and external audits as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation.
- Basic blueprint reading.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Able to visually distinguish small details to assure the production of quality products.
- Able to remain focused for extended periods of time during repetitive work.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to read English.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
PLANT PERFORMANCE RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS:
- Daily contact with production supervision and management team.
- Daily contact with other production operators.
- Daily contact with quality inspectors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
