What are the responsibilities and job description for the TRIO Peer Leader - Work Study Opportunity position at CCV-Student?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create a welcoming environment that fosters belonging and community among students;
- Foster connection in the TRIO SSS community through activities such as facilitating discussion in the TRIO Canvas course, leading virtual social gatherings, or serving as a peer mentor to new TRIO scholars.
- Support students in a manner consistent with the mission, purposes of peer mentoring, and desired outcome for students to develop knowledge, skills, and beliefs to be successful in college;
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment;
- Refer students to additional academic and general supports and resources;
- Collaborate with TRIO SSS Advisors, Director, and Senior Staff Assistant;
- Foster student confidence to overcome challenges and value themselves as college-level learners;
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Supervision received from the Academic Coordinator or Office Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled as a current CCV student and a TRIO SSS Scholar.
Compensation : $16.00 per hour (unless noted otherwise on contract)
