What are the responsibilities and job description for the Events Assistant position at CCV?
Center for Christian Virtue (CCV)’s Events Assistant supports the organization’s events throughout the year. From the three annual Galas, to the annual March for Life, to CCV’s internal and external events and more, the Events Assistant is a highly organized individual, able to balance multiple projects, keep a keen eye on details, and assist with other tasks as assigned.
Reports to: Organizational Development Director
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation: Full-time, Salaried/Exempt; Commensurate with experience
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Key Responsibilities
- With oversight of the Organizational Development Director, assist in the coordination and planning of internal and external events.
- Support event work plans, timelines, and logistics including: location selection, catering, venue details, audiovisual needs, speaker arrangements, staff and volunteer assignments, setup/tear-down, and on-site event management.
- Assist with managing relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners.
- Support ideating and strategic planning of annual calendar of events.
- Manage the Events inbox and answer phones, return event-related voicemails.
- Other duties as assigned to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and abide by our organization’s values.
- Assist with sponsor and attendee registration tracking as well as tracking event expenses.
- Be present during event setup, execution, and teardown and assist in troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the event.
- Assist in gathering feedback and compiling reports on event outcomes.

Job Qualifications & Requirements
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in event planning or coordination
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to details and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and operate on a flexible schedule with ever-changing priorities.
- Strong computer skills including experience in Microsoft Office Suite; proven electronic data entry skills; and ability to manage data files, and perform electronic data research.
- Willing to travel for and work overtime at events and meetings from time to time.

- Mature Christian, currently attending or pursuing attendance in a local church.
