TITLE: GRADING FOREMAN
REPORTS TO: SUPERINTENDENT
JOB PURPOSE:
- Supervises field operations for an earthwork/roadeway/grading project. The Grading forman will directly supervise and coordinate activities of grading crew and may also engage in the trade work of the employees being supervised.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Plan and efficiently execute grading work assigned by the Superintendent
- Operate equipment for grade and excavation for job as needed
- Oversee personnel: Dump Truck Drivers on the job site, Equipment Operators on the job site, Laborers
- Experienced with all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects
- Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying, and final excavation work
- Reads, understands, and interprets drawings and specifications
- Control the risk of fixed-price contract commitment by closely monitoring labor and equipment productivity
- Ensure timely, smooth, and efficient flow of project labor, materials, subcontract, and other direct cost information to the Superintendent
- Reports all time and materials accurately and timely
