TITLE: HEAVY-DUTY DIESEL TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: SHOP FOREMAN
JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking skilled heavy-duty diesel mechanics to join our growing team. The right candidates for this position specialize in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing large diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Inspect, repair, and replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain cement mixer trucks, dump trucks, concrete pump trucks, and construction equipment
- Test equipment that has been repaired and make adjustments
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment
- Consult equipment operating manuals and blueprints
- Performed scheduled and preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment
- Travel to work sites to repair heavy equipment or trucks
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and operators
- Overtime hours may be required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred
- Competent techniques and practices of maintenance and repair of trucks and equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently or with a team
- Positive attitude and strong organizational skills required
