Dental Surgical Technician Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dental Surgical Technician to join our oral surgery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working in an operating room (OR) environment and must hold active hospital privileges. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the oral surgeon in advanced procedures, including extractions, implants, and complex surgeries conducted in clinical and hospital settings.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and operatory spaces to meet strict safety and infection control standards.
- Capture and process diagnostic imaging, including dental X-rays.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including pre- and post-operative documentation.
- Provide clear, compassionate patient care, including pre- and post-operative instructions.
- Oversee surgical inventory management and ensure readiness for procedures.
- Collaborate with hospital staff and adhere to OR protocols.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-ups, and surgical appointments seamlessly.
Qualifications:
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience working in an OR environment, with at least 2 years as a Dental Assistant (oral surgery experience preferred).
- Current hospital privileges or eligibility to obtain them.
- Radiology and CPR certifications required.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and dental terminology.
- Strong patient care and communication skills, with a calm demeanor during high-stakes procedures.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team setting.
