OVERVIEW
The CDC Foundation seeks to hire a Business Intelligence Program Manager to assist the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) team within the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Office of the Commissioner. This position will play a pivotal role in developing BI strategy, supporting maintenance of current BI applications, and strengthening the way the department disseminates data to the public. DMI involves all DPH, spanning policy, people, process, and platforms. DMI directly impacts DPH's organizational priorities, how staff interacts with data and how outside entities interact with the organization. The DMI Team is charged with implementing a centralized data platform that follows CDC's North Star Architecture, supporting the agency in accomplishing its strategic priorities, such as the Commissioner's Data Front Door Initiative, which seeks to improve access and use of DPH data.
Theincumbentis responsible for coordinating technical resources and program teams and maintaining the current BI applications and portal. In collaboration with the Director of Data Strategy and Sr. Project Manager, this position will support developing BI strategy and standards for the department. This role will ensure BI products meet departmental and ADA standards. The person in this position will also be responsible for providing technical assistance on BI application standards to program teams.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Public Health, or related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in project management, business development, data integration, and business intelligence projects.
- Demonstrated strengths and experience in program development, analysis, and evaluation.
- Confident and able to effectively engage interest holders in challenging or deadline-oriented situations.
- Strong knowledge of business analysis techniques, data warehousing, and BI concepts and tools.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in accessible ways.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI, and database platforms such as Snowflake.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams in a hybrid environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, establishing and maintaining collaborative professional relationship to support strong programmatic governance.
