Overview
The CDC Foundation seeks a Public Health Educator II who will serve as the infection prevention health educator for the Surveillance of Healthcare Associated Antibiotic Resistance and Patient Safety (SHARPPS) Program in the Communicable Disease Branch of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. The individual in this role will create and disseminate outreach and educational resources aimed at enhancing infection prevention among frontline staff throughout various healthcare settings, with a specific focus on outpatient and long-term care environments.
Qualifications :
- Working knowledge of community assessment techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of public health principles, practices, and education methodologies.
- Experience in developing health education and outreach materials for diverse audiences.
- Considerable knowledge of modern health education theories, techniques, and dissemination methods.
- Experience in applying community health education principles at the local level.
- Ability to organize, coordinate, and implement public health education programs.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, adaptable to audiences with varying educational backgrounds.
- Proficiency in computers and software, including word processing, publishing, and presentation tools.
- Educational requirements : Master’s degree in Public Health Education or Public Health with a major in public health education and two years of experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and four years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
