Job Summary:
CWC is seeking a collaborative, analytical and process-oriented individual to join our Application Development team. The Business Application Specialist will play a key role in understanding and aligning business objectives with organizational goals. This role effectively serves as a bridge between business needs and technical capabilities, gathering requirements from stakeholders, designing solutions and translating them into functional specifications for development teams to implement. The ideal candidate will be joining a team of skilled professionals in software development, quality assurance and network architecture thereby providing multiple opportunities to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering: Organize Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and other key stakeholders as needed to facilitate the gathering of business requirements. Conduct interviews and listening sessions to fully understand the business needs and document them clearly.
Process Analysis: Analyze business processes and systems to identify inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvements that can optimize performance, reduce costs, and/or increase productivity.
Solution Design: Working collaboratively with Application Development team members, develop conceptual designs and functional specifications for new or existing systems that support the business needs.
Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for business requirements, processes and systems. Provide regular reports on the progress of projects within the Application Development team to key stakeholders and business leaders.
Key Skills & Attributes
Project Management: Ability to manage timelines, resources and deliverables of multiple projects in various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Analytical/Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns that can lead to the root causes of issues and propose solutions.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and achieve consensus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in database design/management. Proficiency in SQL. Strong working knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies. Familiarity with software development platforms such as GitLab, MS Azure, AWS, Jira, etc.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a business analyst or similar role preferred.
· User Interface or other technical certifications/training is a plus.
