Position : Payroll & HR Specialist
Job Classification : Exempt
Reports to : Human Resources Director
Summary :
The Payroll & HR Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources Department, with a primary focus on payroll processing, performance management, and benefits administration. This position ensures accuracy in payroll operations while providing exceptional support to employees regarding HR and payroll-related matters.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Payroll Processing & Compliance
- Process biweekly payroll and off-cycle runs using ADP Workforce Now.
- Review and verify timecards, payroll deductions, voluntary / involuntary garnishments, and other exceptions.
- Monitor and process cost-of-living adjustments, performance-based increases, summer pay, benefit deductions for employees on leave and any other deductions or incentives.
- Ensure accurate processing of income verifications, Public Service Loan Forgiveness applications, and childcare income verifications.
- Prepare, process, and verify year-end payroll requirements and tax documentation.
- Conduct weekly overtime audits and track various types of paid leave (PTO, jury duty, bereavement, etc.).
- Maintain accurate tax records for all applicable jurisdictions.
- Process and track pay, location, and position changes for employees.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.
