Our practice specialties include real estate, vineyards and wineries, and trusts and estates. Over the years our team has blossomed into a group of 30 professionals providing comprehensive solutions from tax and audit services to bookkeeping and business management.
Overview of key responsibilities:
Business Administration
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, ensuring smooth functioning and maintaining an organized workspace
Team Management
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of employees
Project Management
Lead and monitor operational projects and ensure timely delivery
Human Resources
Recruitment, onboarding and offboarding
Employee relations, engagement and culture
Employee records, documentation and benefit management
Compliance of Human Resources labor laws, regulations and best practices
Payroll
Support payroll processing by collecting timesheets and attendance data including review and validation of timesheets and other payroll data for accurate payroll workpapers

Qualifications and Skills:
• Experience: 5 years of experience in firm operations, human resources, and team management, with a solid understanding of all three areas
• Knowledge and compliance of labor laws, regulations and Human Resources policies and best practices
• Strong understanding of payroll processing and employee benefits
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel and Word
• Proficiency in Human Resources and Payroll software
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and maintain a high level of discretion
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to address employee concerns
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to tasks
• Strong problem-solving and resolution skills
• Aptitude to learn new software and systems including industry specific software and tools that optimize our productivity
• Prior CPA firm experience a plus

Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Position oversees both Solvang and Santa Barbara offices and will require travel to both C&D offices weekly and as needed.

Salary range: $75,000 - $120,000 per year. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable employment laws.
This position is At Will and employment can be terminated at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, at the option of either C&D or employee.
