What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUPERVISOR OF BUILDING TRADES position at CDE - School for the Deaf, Riverside?
The incumbent will perform administrative duties including, but not limited to: adhere to Department policies, rules and procedures; contract monitoring, submit administrative requests including leave, travel, and training in a timely and appropriate manner; accurately report time, and submit time sheets by the due date. Will work to ensure that health and safety requirements are given the highest priority for job completion. Supervises minor building construction and repair work which includes miscellaneous interior and exterior painting, refinishes furniture, estimates and requisitions materials and supplies, keeps tools and equipment in good condition, maintains records and prepares reports. Performs all other duties as assigned. Works individually or with others performing tasks related to facilities maintenance.

**EXAMINATION**
Individuals who do not have transfer eligibilty must have taken and passed an examination to obtain list eligibility for the classification in order to apply. List eligibility may be obtained by meeting the minimum qualifications as outlined in the examination bulletin, and obtaining a passing score on the exam.

Desirable Qualifications
- Strong building trades aptitude and an understanding of maintenance, operations, and repair in a school campus, or facility setting.
- Experience with purchasing, invoice approval, and record keeping. Working knowledge of FI$Cal and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Be a team leader with the ability to make sound decisions in identifying problems and finding resolutions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely fashion.
- Experience working in a school facility or campus setting.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn.
