Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbents job knowledge and abilities. Individual must act as a professional in all interactions with team personnel and clients.Responsibilities : Develops under minimum supervision, CADD drawings from design sketches or catalog information.Performs under direction from the lead, basic engineering / design calculations, sizing components and layouts consistent with assigned discipline to produce efficient and workable drawings for projects.Under direction form the lead, select, design, and write specifications from the scope of work for tagged material or equipment of basic items necessary for execution of the scope of work. (per discipline required)Demonstrates a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities and implemented in work designed.Prepares moderate complex engineering and construction drawings from scratch, sketches, or verbal instruction, utilizing manual or computer-assisted drafting / design techniques.Performs related fundamental engineering support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, compiling Bills of Material, etc.Communicates the design process with assigned discipline and coordinates work with other disciplines on assigned projects.May utilize information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc. to do design workField notes are neatly arranged, accurate and complete.Sketches are readable by anyone and include all pertinent dimensions, notes, and job number.Familiar with design codes, specifications, and standards.Developing design concepts with minimum engineering input.Uses time efficiently.Keeps supervisor informed of progress.Quality assurance for personal work assignments.Supports field assignments as required.Must be able to perform the functions of the lower classification.Qualifications : Required : 7 years, field experience, experience working in the refining / petrochemical industry(s) preferred. 5 years of experience as Piping Designer on medium and large multi-discipline projects utilizing 3D software to produce all deliverables.Preferred : 10 years of technical work experience. As an alternative, a minimum of three years of education in an associate or bachelors degree program for the relevant discipline and six years of experience. Experience based multiple projects utilizing 3D software to produce all deliverables.Software : AutoCAD, Cadworx, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, LFM, Recap.TWIC Card and / or ability to obtain.Previous in plant experience a must.Ability to work a hybrid work schedule.Must be proficient with Autocad / Cadworx / NavisWorks and RECAPPlant Site Position : Site walk downs required as neededWork StandardsAttention to DetailActing with IntegrityAnalyzing IssuesUsing Technical ExpertiseIdentifying problem areasPlanning and OrganizingBehaviorsOpen CommunicationThinking StrategicallyTeamworkingHonestyBusiness AcumenCustomer Responsiveness Per Coordination LeadLeveraging NetworksJudgmentInnovative ThinkingPhysical Requirements : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception, and ability to focus. Employee must be able to climb ladders as typically found in petrochemical facilities.Working Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee may periodically be required to travel to client job-sites, usually involving heavy industrial (chemical) production facilities and access all areas of the facility. Therefore, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and the risk of electric shock. The noise level in work place can be loud to moderate depending on assignment.
