Job Summary
The Branch Manager I has overall responsibility for the operations, sales, and business development activities for the assigned branch location. Direct responsibility for operations, staffing, training, inventory management, financial results, systems, facilities, and customer relations. In addition, the Branch Manager I has direct sales territory responsibility. Essential Functions
- Manage relationships with existing and prospective customers to maximize sales, profitability, and satisfaction.
- Monitor the Branch financial performance to achieve sales, growth, and profitability targets.
- Manages team in the day-to-day performance of job duties.
- Manages a book of business and direct responsibility for DSD sales for customers in territory.
- Assures that milestones and goals are met and adheres to approved budgets.
- Effectively manages teams, providing direction, leadership, and growth opportunity.
- Partners with Vice President of Foodservice and Human Resources on employee and labor relations concerns.
- Utilizes an entrepreneurial mindset to effectively manage all aspects of the branch operations.
- Provides strong leadership skills in managing, motivating and developing successful teams.
- Manages the Collective Bargaining Agreement and partners with appropriate corporate personnel on any related issues.
- Effectively communicates objectives, provides regular feedback, and works toward building a team atmosphere.
- Acts as a team player and leader in the Foodservice division.
- Demonstrates strong personal sales skills.
- Partners in the development of the annual business plan.
- Routinely monitors and analyzes data for process improvement.
- Proactively works to improve upon business results by gaining new customers, increasing margins on current customers, increasing the profitability of items sold to current customers, analyzing logistical problems and producing profitable solutions.
- Provides effective motivation, mentoring, and development for DSM, warehouse, and delivery personnel to drive sales and profits.
- Monitors the quality, quantity, cost, and efficiency of the movement of storage of goods.
- Coordinates and controls the order cycle, weekly pricing, and inventory management needs.
- Allocates and manages staff resources in response to changing needs.
- Acts as liaison and negotiator with customers and suppliers.
- Monitors health and safety environment and implement effective procedures for a safe work environment.
- Relief of branch employees as needed, a minimum of a Class B commercial license is required for this role.
- Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, customers, and parent company.
- Support and enforce SQF / QA, GMP, Safety policies and procedures, and production needs as applicable. “Food Safety and Quality” are the responsibilities of this position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a relevant role in direct to consumer and/or consumer-packaged goods business with national and international distribution desired.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Direct Store Delivery (DSD) sales experience in the hospitality/foodservice industry desired.
- Account management and Sales experience required.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field desired.
- Must have or the ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s license.
Language Skills
- English is required as the written and spoken language.
Driving Requirements
- Must possess or be able to acquire a state issued Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
- Must possess and maintain a clear MVR.
Equipment
Personal protective equipment includes, but not limited to hearing protection, bump caps, hair and beard nets, gloves, and safety glasses must be used in the performance of duties as applicable. Proper lifting techniques must be employed at all times.
