Job Summary
The Corporate Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting department including general ledger, inventory, fixed asset and cash management.
This position reports to the VP & Corporate Controller.
Essential Functions
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for FP&A to analyze and present findings to the Board of Directors
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory standards (e.g. US GAAP, IRC)
- Maintain all aspects of the Company’s chart of accounting including financial dimensions.
Accounting Operations:
- Supervise day-to-day accounting functions
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes (e.g. journal entries, reconciliations, etc.)
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain controls to safeguard Company assets
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and company policies
- Coordinate and assist with external audits and ensure timely resolution of any issues
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor accounting team members
- Provide training and support to Corporate Accounting Staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily tasks
- Monitor performance and manage staff development and workload distribution
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Utilize financial software and tools to automate tasks and streamline accounting operations
Strategic Support:
- Partner with other departments (e.g., operations, engineering, IT) and other departmental functions (e.g. Operations Finance, Treasury, and FP&A) to align financial goals with overall business strategies.
- Provide financial input and support for long-term planning and business initiatives (e.g. systems upgrades)
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises four staff accountants.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting.
- Minimum three years public accounting experience preferred.
- Minimum Five-years relevant experience in accounting or finance sector.
- Minimum Four-years experience overseeing corporate accounting operations.
Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
- Conscientious about timelines and quality of work.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing deadlines in an organized and controlled manner.
- Good GAAP and financial reporting skills.
Language Skills

Lifting/Carrying: Office personnel rarely carry items weighing over 15 to 20 lbs during the course of a workday. Most items would be files or documents weighing less than 10 lbs, and most would be carried short distances. They are directed to seek assistance for heavier items such as a full box of photocopy paper.
Pushing/Pulling: Office personnel may occasionally push or pull files, stacks of documents, or boxes of documents, which may be in files or on shelves at any height during the course of a workday. They are directed to seek assistance for anything heavy.
Squatting/Kneeling/Bending/Stooping: Office personnel frequently squat or kneel to retrieve and replace files and documents in file drawers or on lower shelves during the course of each workday.

While standing or sitting at their workstation, they occasionally twist or turn to retrieve or replace something form an area beside their workstation.
Climbing/Balancing: Office personnel may need to walk up and down stairs several times through out a day. Office personnel may occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
Reaching: Office personnel may reach overhead to retrieve or replace files or documents on high shelves.
Grasping/Manipulating: Office personnel need full range of motion in both hands for heavy computer input and for using other office equipment including calculators, copy machines, printers, fax machines as well as for sorting through and organizing large stacks of documents.
