Job Summary
California Dairies Inc. is currently seeking dedicated and experienced Plant Relief Operators to join our team at the Fresno Plant. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in dairy plant operations and possess the necessary licenses and certifications.
Support and enforce QA, GMP, Safety policies and procedures, and production needs. “Food Safety and Quality” are the responsibilities of this position.
We are seeking candidates with the following:
- Must have a current (or previously held) Weighers and Samplers License
- Must have a current (or previously held) Pasteurizer License
- Must have a current (or previously held) IA Certification
- Experience as a Milk Receiver/Tank Washer and Loadout or equivalent
- Experience as a Separator/Evaporator or equivalent
- Experience in Powder Packaging or equivalent
- Some experience as a Churn Operator or equivalent
- Some experience in Sanitation or equivalent
- Some experience in Warehouse shipping and receiving or equivalent
Essential Functions
- Perform various plant relief duties as needed
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards
- Operate and maintain equipment efficiently
- Assist in the production and packaging of dairy products
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the plant
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
- Basic computational skills required.
- Simple math reasoning required.
Language Skills
- Excellent written and spoken English.

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Vacation relief personnel are not attached to one permanent job. The operator rotates their job from week to week and department depending on where they are needed for relief. As a result of this, the physical demand of their job encompasses every job in the plant. The physical demands will be based on the job description of the assigned job.
In general, all production jobs require the ability to lift and carry 55 lbs. on a regular basis and 80 lbs. on an occasional basis. The operator stands throughout their shift and occasionally sits while performing tests. The operator walks on uneven concrete and tiles surfaces. The operator needs full range of motion including sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting, turning, climbing, balancing, reaching, grasping and manipulating.
Equipment
Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to: hearing protection, bump caps, hair and beard nets, gloves, and safety glasses must be used in the performance of duties. Proper lifting techniques must be employed at all times.
