Job Summary:
CDS Life Transitions is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residence Manager Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our support services team, you will provide direct care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting them to lead independent and fulfilling lives in their community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out direct care duties as assigned, including encouraging independence, treating residents with dignity and respect, and adhering to individual program plans.
- Assist with housekeeping, meal preparation, recreational activities, and meeting dietary needs.
- Provide shift coordination, ensure active programming is completed and documented, and all resident and facility needs are met.
- Ensure the use of communication systems, disseminate information to appropriate persons/programs as needed, and keep the Manager and/or designee informed of events that occur.
- Attend meetings as required, provide in-service training to staff, and ensure assigned direct care staff completes all required training.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in the human service field, with at least one-year experience with individuals with I/DD preferred.
- Ability to work independently, motivate others, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to provide coverage of shifts as the need arises.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and meet applicable Vehicle Operator Requirements (NYS Driver's License Required).
