What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Employment Services position at CDS Monarch, Inc.?
OVERVIEW:
Management of employment programs Supportive Employment and Community Prevocational Services: vocational activities and curriculum to best assist our consumers to secure fulfilling life long experiences, maximize funding opportunities, maintain regulatory compliance, develop new programs, outreach to develop waiting lists of consumers and the direct supervision of direct reporting staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and directs daily operations of the employment programs in CDS Monarch.
- Supervises designated staff working within the Supportive Employment and Community Prevocational Program.
- Coordinates and approves time off requests for all assigned staff and works with the Senior Manager of Employment Services to schedule coverage when available.
- Continuous communications with the OPWDD and ACCES-VR to build referrals, as well as attend meetings for updates to programs and service delivery.
- Maintains contact with school districts to be able to provide career explorations and enhance relationships for future employment/programming opportunities.
- Provides, participates in and monitors relevant in-service training for staff and ensures compliance with all agency and regulatory training requirements.
- Participates in case reviews, life plans and other meetings as required.
- Maximizes the use of funding streams to ensure financial viability of all programs.
- Works closely with other employment services staff to ensure maximum utilization of employment programs.
- Verifies and completes billing for assigned programs.
- Reviews time cards daily to minimize overtime and approves prior to the end of the pay period.
- Maintains safety compliance within the program.
- Maintains regulatory compliance in all areas of employment program.
- Ensures monthly summaries are completed within specified time frames and accurate.
- Reviews and approves staff action plans, ensuring accuracy and aligning with life plans.
- Assists with coverage to assigned programs as needed.
- Completes DPS evaluations on an ongoing basis.
- Works with staff to better their performance, and follows the disciplinary process as needed.
- Adheres to all CDS Monarch policies and procedures and sets an example for co-workers and subordinates.
- Performs all other duties relevant to this position, as assigned by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL ACADEMIC AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a Bachelor’s Degree with a human services concentration.
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a vocational program setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate staff; work independently, problem solve, and prioritize.
- Ability to work with others in a professional and effective manner.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Computer experience with a proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Reliable transportation (NYS Drivers’ Licensed required).
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. dead weight.
- Maintain all required certifications/training by State regulations and CDS Monarch policy.
CORPORATE QUALIFICATIONS:

- Attend mandatory Education and Training modules as scheduled, obtains, and maintains required certifications.
- Act as a professional representative of CDS Monarch in regards to appearance, behavior, temperament, communication, language, and dress.
- Perform all other duties relevant to the position as assigned by supervisor.
The listed salary range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
