What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Technician/Designer position at CDS Muery?
Job Overview
The CAD Technician / Designer will be a part of a team under the supervision of a Professional Civil Engineer. The CAD Techn will assist in planning production and some design using the latest AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Projects will include commercial, municipal / public works, utility substations, residential, and schools.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform CAD modifications based on plan markups, sketched information, and verbal direction.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Project Managers, Project Managers (P.E.s), Project Engineers (EITs), and other Technicians to provide drafting and design support during planning, design, and construction for various types of projects.
- Must be able to successfully adhere to company CAD standards, files, details, etc.
- Prepare presentation materials and graphics for project development, meetings, and reports.
- Ability to stay on task and move to the next task with little oversight (self-starter).
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally (verbal and in writing) with other company personnel, including but not limited to Company Managers, Engineers, other Technicians, and outside contacts and clients.
- Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team at others.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects at various stages at any given time (multi-task) and be comfortable with a dynamic project schedule that will require shifting job priorities with very little notice.
- Must be comfortable working with deadlines to meet project goals.
