Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) Specialist

Education/Experience: High school diploma is required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of general information and management software system functions, capabilities, characteristics, and limitations of PC software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, and charting. This position requires a detail-oriented person with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and customer groups, conduct customer training clearly and effectively, prepare accurate documents and reports, and extensively travel to locations in north central, northeast, and southeast Oklahoma.
Physical Requirements: Ability to move about the building and community throughout the day. Must be able to drive a car and travel to customer locations in north central and southeast Oklahoma. Vision and hearing as are sufficient to carry out tasks and engage in conversation are necessary.
General Description: The HMIS Specialist is responsible for providing user support for Continuum of Care agencies and stakeholders utilizing HUD required systems and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). The CoC/HMIS Specialist works under the supervision of the Systems Coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Manage relationships with regional Continuum of Care partners in north central, and southeast Oklahoma.
2. Work with CoC Chairperson to prepare agendas and comply with open meeting laws.
3. Coordinate and report HMIS data for COC meetings and across region.
4. Monitor data quality through review and auditing.
5. Work with WellSky to ensure accurate reporting for HMIS.
6. Communicate HMIS ServicePoint goals, procedures, and policies.
7. Coordinate individual agency orientation components/meetings for new users, ensure HMIS users are receiving the support they need.
8. Communicate data issues to system administrators.
9. Research and remain updated on HUD’s Data and Technical Standards and user implementation.
10. Assist staff with technical hardware troubleshooting and software related assistance.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
