Position Information: Our client is seeking a talented Network Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain enterprise-level network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, Wireless Access Points, SD-WAN, cloud infrastructure and other networking devices.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution of network outages and service interruptions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies, protocols, and procedures to safeguard the network against threats.
- Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and external service providers to ensure seamless integration and operation of network systems.
- Coordinate with different departments to assess networking needs, provide technical guidance, and ensure infrastructure supports organizational goals.
- Assist IT teams with the deployment and maintenance of servers as needed.
- Plan and manage network projects, including upgrades, expansions, and migrations to support business growth and new technologies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Manage network capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network infrastructure, configurations, and processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, or a closely related field; or 8 years of equivalent experience required
- 8 years of experience in network administration or operations, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP, Modbus, Profinet, CIP, routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, DNS, Cloud Infrastructure, etc.).
- Experience with operational technology (OT) networks and IIOT.
- Experience with enterprise-level networking hardware (Cisco, HP, etc.).
- Experience with cloud-based network infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS).
- In-depth understanding of network security best practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, Cat Tools, Syslog).
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A proven track record of developing and implementing network design, strategy and plans
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- ITIL experience and change management required, current ITIL certification a plus.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent is highly desirable.
