What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Specialty Instructor/Trainer position at CDYMCA Opportunitites?
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading charity committed to strengthening the community. The Program Specialty Instructor, plans and leads a range of activity sessions for participants in a Music specialty area.
QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS in Music Education, Music performance, OR a related field OR equivalent experience preferred.

One year’s experience in Music Education or MTNA or National Accredited Certification preferred

One year experience in the health/fitness field and Sports Training/Coaching or National Coaching Certification is preferred.
- Formal training in the instrument being taught and/or ability to demonstrate the skills necessary for Music programming.
- Demonstrated ability to lead an individual/group and motivate others to achieve their goals

Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/PR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen
Certifications and education credentials MUST be uploaded to the DOCUMENTS section of your Presence/Application.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop, implement, and instruct specified sessions for clients/participants.

Provide encouragement and expertise in support of goals to improve performance in specific area.

Promote the music program

Communicate clearly and effectively and encourage clients/participants to develop skills and techniques which are relevant to their goals

Adhere to all guidelines and expectations as outlined by the YMCA which includes but is not limited to providing safe classes and sessions and responding to and reporting any accidents or incidents.
