What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transition Coordinator position at CEA-NJ?
This position is responsible for developing, managing and providing a variety of meaningful experiences for students with disabilities to explore available opportunities following high school, including post-secondary education and community integrated employment. A major responsibility of this position will be cultivating relationships with regional employers to develop career exploration experiences for students through paid internships. This position involves working in both classroom and community business settings in Mercer and Middlesex Counties.
Required Education, Experience and/or Skills:
- Associate’s Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience working in the human services field; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must have a valid driver's license and meet company driver selection criteria.
- Strong organizational, customer service, communication, networking and problem-solving skills required.
- Self-directed with an ability to develop goals and initiatives and deliver on those initiatives.
- This position requires working on some weekends and evenings to accommodate student availability, including classroom sessions and community employment experiences.
