Overview and Duties:
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Columbus Equipment Company “go to” person for the following:
- Identify potential customer base for material processing products.
- Determine customer needs, and specify correct equipment required for their application.
- Conduct equipment demonstrations along with operator and sales training.
- Attend new machine deliveries, and revisit customers as needed to ensure satisfaction.
- Generate and build strong and lasting business relationships with prospective and existing customers.
- Resolve basic product support issues.
- Report competitive market data and changing market conditions.
- Work with customers and potential customers to provide solutions to their equipment needs.
- Provide on-site expertise for demonstrations, machine inspections, sales, and product support.
- Frequently visit customer facilities and jobsites related to customer support activities.
- Attend technical training to remain adequately informed of material processing products and services.
- Attend Association meetings and conferences that are beneficial for the support and representation of the material processing product line.
Key Competencies
- Material processing machinery product experience.
- Basic technical aptitude for diagnostics and operation of material processing machinery.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Valid Drivers License
- Material Processing Products experience
Education, Skill, And/or Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with related experience in material processing industry
- High proficiency in customer relationship skills.
- Organization and communication skills must be highly developed.
- Computer skills need to be broad based.
- Must be able to travel and stay overnight as required.
- Must be available 24/7 for customer assistance calls.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
