Position Overview:
The Not-for-Profit Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records for the organization and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and funding requirements. This individual will work closely with the finance team and executive leadership to ensure proper financial reporting and stewardship of funds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and non-profit specific regulations.
- Assist with the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the organization’s annual budget, ensuring alignment with program goals and funding sources.
- Assist with grant tracking and reporting, ensuring proper allocation and utilization of restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
- Provide financial reports and analysis to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards, including those specific to non-profit organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience. Not-for-profit experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of not-for-profit accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and commitment to the organization’s mission.
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
