The Cecil County Library seeks a highly skilled Information Specialist to join its team. As an integral part of the library's Adult Services department, this role will provide exceptional customer service, develop and deliver innovative programs, and conduct research using various resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide information services, including readers advisory, reference, and technology assistance to patrons in person, via phone, email, online, etc.
- Work collaboratively with Branch Manager and external presenters to plan and conduct library programs responsive to the needs of adults.
- Conduct research using an array of resources, including the library's databases and digital services.
- Provide technology instruction to the public in a variety of areas, including library software and hardware, personal device assistance, digital media and downloadables, and internet and computer usage.
- Work with Branch Manager to develop and implement outreach initiatives.
- Actively market library materials and services.
Requirements:
- Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college.
- Demonstrated knowledge of users' interests, books, readers advisory and new materials formats for adults.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
