GENERAL SUMMARY : Under direct supervision of the Customer Service / Circulation Supervisor, the Shelving Clerk accurately sorts and shelves library materials of all types. Ensures library materials are placed in assigned places and in proper order while consistently delivering caring, non-judgmental customer service to all. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Sorts and shelves library materials of all types.
- Maintains proper order of materials by adhering to established organizational systems.
- Works collaboratively with Branch Manager and Customer Service / Circulation Supervisor to merchandise collections.
- Works with Branch Manager and Customer Service / Circulation Supervisor to implement branch goals within overall system goals.
- Straightens library furniture and ensures shelved materials are neat and orderly.
- Locates and pulls materials to fill patron and staff requests.
- Assists with clerical aspects of special projects.
- Makes recommendations to Branch Manager and Customer Service / Circulation Supervisor with regard to collection.
- Other duties as assigned. JOB STANDARDS :
