The Cecil J. Picard Center for Child Development & Lifelong Learning at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has an opening for a part-time CLASS-Act observer across the state of Louisiana with specific areas of need in Calcasieu and surrounding Parishes. Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (birth to prekindergarten ages), or a Bachelor's degree in an unrelated area AND a minimum of two years of experience working with young children in birth-to-five settings. Individuals should have observation experience and experience writing professionally. Applicants must be willing to travel with reliable transportation. Individuals should have computer access with proficient general computer literacy, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities include: participation in all required initial training, calibration, and on-going observer professional development.
Conducting Observations: Travel time, 2-hour observation, submission of required documentation including detailed notes and summary statements adhering to Picard Center criteria.
CLASS Trained observer (preferred) : infant, toddler, and/or PreK-3rd.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $310.00 per day
