Location: Statewide in Louisiana, with a focus on specific areas of need in the Greater New Orleans Region including Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and other St. Parishes.

The Picard Center is seeking a part-time CLASS-Act Observer to support statewide efforts in early childhood assessment. Priority regions include Orleans and neighboring parishes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (birth to pre-K), OR
- Bachelor’s degree in another field plus at least two years of experience working with children from birth to age five
- Experience with classroom observations and professional writing
- Willingness to travel with reliable transportation
- Proficiency with computers and strong general tech literacy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified CLASS observer in Infant, Toddler, and/or Pre-K–3rd
Responsibilities:
- Participate in all required training, calibration, and ongoing professional development
- Conduct on-site CLASS observations, including:
- Travel to assigned locations
- Perform a 2-hour observation
- Submit detailed notes and summary documentation that meet Picard Center standards
