Line Cook

Cecily is a neighborhood restaurant located in Greenpoint, BK. The list will feature classic French regions and off-the-beaten-path Spanish wine, in addition to other natural and timeless bottles from across the globe. The culinary program complements the list with thoughtful, seasonally-driven dishes sourced from local farms and purveyors. 

Cecily is hiring for Line Cooks!  We are looking for a motivated and passionate line cooks to join our small but mighty team! Our line cook will play an integral part of the restaurant whose responsibilities include prep, set-up, provide quality service and break down of station. 

Duties include:

• Manage your prep list and communicate with the team on food inventory, ensuring your  is fully-stocked and organized.
• Properly execute the menu.
• Restaurant cleanliness by setting up the opening shift for success and closing with confidence that the kitchen is prepared for the next day.
• Follow health department standards.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
• Communicate with Front of House to manage timing of courses, any guest feedback, etc.
• Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Work with a fast-paced environment, communicating with your peers to ensure culinary excellence at all points of the shift.
• Be a team player-support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible!

Experience:

• 1 years of line cook experience in a fast-paced, full-service, and upper-scale dining restaurant
• Great team dynamic and ability to maintain positive attitude during high intensity experiences
• Strong work ethic with dedication to the highest standards of quality
• A can-do attitude and the willingness to pitch in to help the team whenever necessary
• The ability to perform physical requirements of the position (lift up to 50lbs)
• Food Safety Certification, preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic math skills
• Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
