The Design Drafter III is responsible for developing conceptual designs, reviewing drawings, and providing support to the engineering team. This role will design project-specific items to be manufactured by our Company and other companies. The Design Drafter III will facilitate internal workflow, as required. This position collaborates in person and remotely with Project Management and Engineering professionals to develop design concepts and engineering documents.
Your Responsibilities will be:
- Research and reviews project requirements and design information to determine if it is sufficient to complete the design while ensuring that the design concept can be met.
- Assists with the preparation of standard engineering documents and calculations, using Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Inventor, and iLogic software for drafting and design purposes.
- Coordinates with other Project Managers and Engineers to establish essential functions and deadlines necessary to finish specific projects.
- Determines appropriate methods to create drawings using either a CAD template customized to the client’s requirements, a standard template designed for the specific type of work, or by updating an existing CAD file.
- Analyzes drawings, existing and proposed characteristics, and other design data to plan and design projects.
- Completes the drawing process using the information contained within the documents and in line with the Scope of Work; make necessary corrections to existing drawings following quality review process.
- Reviews drawings from other drafters to ensure alignment with scoping and corporate draftingstandards.
- Assists project managers with preparation of work scopes and estimates for projects.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology with 3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
- (8 years of demonstrated experience in a mechanical engineering field in lieu of degree).
- Working knowledge & experience with Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Inventor and iLogic software is required.
- Familiarity with sheet metal and piping design is a plus.
- Skills test to demonstrate CAD capabilities is required.
Skills & Abilities:
- Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk Vault, AutoCAD, Inventor Suite.
- Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precisiontechnical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science andThis includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the designand production of various goods and services.
- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and
